I am a higher education professional and educator who builds the capacity of faculty, staff, students, and institutions to engage communities ethically and effectively and to build mutually beneficial, respectful, and generative relationships that foster learning and positive social change. I am a creative and strategic thinker who helps diverse stakeholders imagine new possibilities, develop shared goals, and implement and evaluate projects. I am deeply engaged with issues facing higher education, especially the changing nature of the liberal arts to serve diverse students, the commitments of college and universities as institutional citizens, the place of public scholarship and civic engagement in faculty and staff professions, and the development of curricula that integrate academic learning, community engagement, and vocational exploration. I have a commitment to place-based, experiential,and contextual learning that respects webs of relationships and locally specific histories and cultures.
