Event and Marketing Manager


Job Summary

Impact Hub MSP and the new FINNovation Lab have developed a strategic Collaboration to create a world-class community and destination for impact entrepreneurs. The Collaboration offers unique community work, co-working and event space, curated peer-to-peer practice groups, and opportunities to learn about social business and beyond!  Leveraging over 100 Impact Hubs and 16,000 members globally, with the brand strength and innovative new concept of the FINNEGANS House, we are poised to be the leader in our region for building infrastructure, community and resources for impact entrepreneurs and social businesses out of our new offices in Elliot Park.

The Collaboration seeks an Event and Marketing Manager with key responsibilities in the areas of Event Management for member, signature and rental events & marketing duties such as community communications, public relations and membership recruitment.  This vital position in our organization is well suited to a highly organized and self-motivated individual with success managing high-profile, public-facing events, a knack for marketing and a passion for Impact Enterprise.


Responsibilities and Duties

Signature Events

  • Lead, manage and bring to life signature events
  • Develop and manage event budget & planning; manage vendors, marketing and outreach, and day of event leadership &execution


Event Space Rental Marketing & Logistics

  • Identify key target segments for event space rentals
  • Create product pricing, messaging and collateral to market space offerings; monitor activity and adjust marketing strategy as needed
  • Oversee event space team and logistics such as payments, set-up and take-down


Member Recruitment

  • Drive development and management of the Impact Hub and FINNovation Lab Collaboration brand and positioning in local market
  • Lead Public Relations efforts through relationships with media outlets and other partners
  • Identify key events for leadership team to present and represent The Collaborative
  • Oversee and create external-facing messaging such as website updates, marketing materials and newsletter


Co-Working Hosting Support

  • Back-up Community Host, as needed


Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in event planning/event management
  • Experience developing and executing marketing strategies, including public relations and copywriting experience
  • Proven experience planning and executing high-profile, public-facing events (vendor management, event marketing, day-of details)
  • Exceptional organizational, detail, planning and project management skills along with dynamic interpersonal skills / ability to create a welcoming environment
  • Creative thinker who’s passionate about social innovation and entrepreneurship!
  • Interest and experience working with a diverse community
