Learn more about Repowered’s important mission and how you can help reduce e-waste and the pollution that results from it.

Roughly 3 million pounds of electronic waste go through the doors of Repowered each year. What happens to it and how have modern innovations and progress in legislation changed the way we manage e-waste?

Join Impact Hub MSP for an insider perspective of a day in the life at Repowered and a discussion led by Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, Maria Jensen, on the evolution of e-waste.

About the Speaker: Maria Jensen – Environment, Health & Safety Manager

As a young adult I got involved in environmental activism and completed a Master’s degree in Global Health at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

I published my master’s research on risk perceptions of occupational exposure to mercury during the e-waste recycling process, a project that I completed in Bogota, Colombia in 2019. In 2020 I started as Environment Health and Safety Specialist and now focus mostly on advocacy for environmental issues at the State level.

I recently collaborated on a study to quantify how many pounds of precious metals (and toxic metals) are present in Minnesota’s e-waste stream, and I am currently working on legislation to remake Minnesota’s e-waste collection system.
