Impact Hub’s Climbing Club

Similar to entrepreneurship, there is a preconceived notion that only a certain type of person can be successful at rock climbing. We’re here to tell you that climbing is for ANYONE with ANY ABILITY. Seriously. If a 90 year old woman can climb at her grandson’s birthday party or Fransico “Novato” Marín can climb some of the hardest routes in the world at age 61, you can too! Impact Hub’s climbing club is a safe space for individuals to connect, learn, and grow. The club is supportive of all levels of climbing. No matter how far you make it off the ground or if you just come to hang out and watch, we’ll cheer you on 100% of the time.

“We cannot lower the mountains therefore we must elevate ourselves.”

Todd Skinner (Pro Climber)

1st Monday of the month at 5:30pm. We will meet for about an hour and a half. However, you can stay as long as you like!

We will meet at Vertical Endeavors Twin Cities Bouldering located two stops east on the Green Line. If there is interest, the club will look into annual outdoor meetups.

A day pass to Vertical Endeavors is $18 (for those who will be climbing). There are also punch passes or other membership options available as well. Rental gear is an added cost and is not required.

The great thing about bouldering is you don’t need any gear! Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Gear is available for rent at VE if you desire.

ALL club members will be required to fill out a waiver and go on an orientation, even members who are “watch only” as per VE policy.

Why Should I Join?

We support each other in our work so let’s support each other in our personal growth! Make your connections at the coffee pot deeper and more well rounded.

As entrepreneurs we need to be ready to switch directions. Climbing will teach you how to successfully and efficiently assess different solutions to find the best outcome.

Climbing is 99% failure so we’ll all be doing it. If we don’t fall, it means we aren’t pushing to be our best.

Understand the difference between when a situation is activating your fear response or when there is potential for actual danger.  Learn levels of risk so that in your business, you’ll feel more comfortable pushing the boundaries of innovation.

To make sure our businesses are healthy, we need to make sure we are too! Climbing is not only a physical workout but a mental one as well. Take the time to relieve stress by focusing on movement, breathing, friendship and personal growth.

Anyone who wants to enter the gym to either climb or watch MUST have filled out the waiver in accordance with Vertical Endeavors policy.

Meet Your Guide

Our staff member Mia was born to an old school climber who was part of the dirtbag community of the late 70’s and 80’s. Mia grew up with a bouldering wall in her basement, and her sister was taken to the gym in her baby basket. She was old enough to watch the evolution of the climbing world; dirtbags and diehards being the ones who roped up in the gyms to the sport becoming mainstream and commercialized. Mia rediscovered her passion for climbing 3 years ago and currently trains for rock climbing 7 days a week. She has worked as a High Ropes Course Director and a Vertical Endeavors Team Coach.
